In January of 2022, I’m launching a monthly magazine for Catholic parents (and grandparents) who want their children to have the benefit of classical education, whether they are homeschooled, attending a parochial school that is or is not using a classical curriculum, a private school, or even public school.
The heart of Good Soil magazine is the wealth of stories drawn from the 1000 good books that every child should read. From Hans Christian Andersen, Beatrix Potter and Kate Greenaway in the Nursery, to Jane Austen and Robert Louis Stevenson in the upper grades, each month’s issue will carry seasonally appropriate stories and commentary, activity ideas, resources for the liturgical season, and sometimes maybe even sheet music.
I’ve posted a proof-of-concept issue on ISSUU that you can view to get an idea of what type of content you can expect. I’m still adding to and updating the “dummy” issue as I refresh my magazine design skills (and plink around with Affinity Publisher). Anyway, if you click on the picture above, it’ll bring up the issue so you can check it out.
If you think it might be a good resource for you, I’d love it if you subscribed. Details on how to do that will be posted shortly.
